Visit

A visit (sometimes called a session) refers to a single instance of a user accessing a website. It begins when the user lands on the site and ends either after 60 minutes or when the user closes their browser. Multiple page views can occur during a single visit.

Page View

A page view is counted each time a user loads a page. If a user refreshes the page or navigates to the same page multiple times, each instance counts as a separate page view.

Time on Site

Time on site measures the time between the first interaction to last interaction within the user visit (session), with an interaction being any page view or "ping" (which fires every 30 seconds). If the user arrives on a page, and leaves after 29 seconds before the first ping at 30 seconds, that would result in the final page not being tracked accurately.

Bounce Rate

Bounce rate represents the percentage of visits where a user lands on a page and leaves without interacting further or navigating to other pages.

Action Rate

The Action Rate is the number of unique-to-visit actions divided by the total visits.

And for those customers who have programmatic enabled:

RPS (Revenue Per Session)

RPS measures the average revenue generated from each visit (or session). It is calculated by dividing the total revenue by the number of visits during a specific period.

Formula:
RPS = Total Revenue / Total Visits

Ad Impressions

An ad impression is recorded each time an advertisement is displayed to a user on a web page. Every time an ad loads on a page, it counts as an impression, regardless of whether the user interacts with it.

RPM (Revenue Per Mille)

RPM, or Revenue Per Mille, measures the estimated earnings a website generates per 1,000 page views.

Formula:
RPM = (Total Revenue / Total Page Views) * 1,000
